Music Studies

Jazz Improvisation:  If you’re an intermediate/advanced instrumentalist who is frustrated trying to learn how to improvise using “modes”, there is an easier way! I can show you how to use all twelve notes on any chord using timeless melodic principles.

Jazz/Pop Piano:  Whether you’ve had years of lessons or if you can’t even find middle C, in several months you’ll begin showing impressive skill in forming up rich, sophisticated sounds. In a very short period of time I can show anybody how take a song and make it sound “professional”. Using a method that has been endorsed by Jimmy Rowles (pianist for Benny Goodman) and Ritchie Beirach (world renowned jazz pianist), you will learn how to form beautiful chords by spreading the notes of your chords between two hands. You will learn real songs….no baby music! You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to sound like your favorite pianists on recordings.

Composition:  Learn to use the overtone series found in nature as the unifying principle for linear expressions as well as vertical structures of up to 12 parts.  The concept can be used to compose music of any style, tonal/key-centered or dissonant.
